I mean yeah, it generally will be, but it wont have a base of 0%. At 10chr it will start off with something. 0% would imply 0 damage, etc.

Those pet numbers sound more in line. In my thinking it should be something like 70/30 for ranger/pet damage? I'd imagine we don't want rangers to be instantly garbage if their pet is killed so most of the damage should be on them and not the pet. Obviously the ratio can be tinkered with.

Ranger pets need fixing quickly though, or at least stop using King Scorps in events. It's pretty dumb right now.

Yeah that's what I was fearing. People may prioritize the tanky pet over the dps pet if killing the pet first becomes a big thing for countering Rangers. Because they hit less times but harder some may be incentivized to play that way...which I think is actually kind of cool tbh.

Brilliant. That makes it a lot easier to keep the unique tameables in check too! I imagine that multiple unique's will be tameable and have things that they do. I heard from someone today that the King Scorpion does Poison? Badass :D

Interesting. Those are the modifiers with the iron gear on right? I like that idea too because like you said Elves and Lings will have stronger pets but weaker ranger dmg. With pet dmg where does it put rangers? right under barbarian?

Hehe I sent you a tele in game earlier. Can still be friends no matter what guild/clan, I don't PK or PKK anyways. I just drift around being a Honzo!! :D

It's probably going to be sometime this week yeah. Right now dealing with exams too this week so its hard to fully devote until this is over with.

Okay so rangers will get a 10% damage nerf to themselves. And now pets work as we talked about here. There is a 'efficiency' stat in /pet info as well now so you can see how much you are utilizing it. The more attacks a pet has, the more it's damage gets slashed on capture, but pets with 3 attacks are still higher damage then pets with two attacks, it just brings them more in line. (It's about 17.5%xattacks for reduction).. I also changed King Scorpion to have higher min damage but lower max damage compared to dreadbeast. Since I feel dreadbeast should be stronger in raw power because it does not have poison. (More max then min, so the average damage is higher on dread by a little.). Taunt is only 2 on these two guys too so they aren't amazing at tanking for you. Going to look at other mobs too.


Efficency is 100% with charisma 23. You lose 3% eff per point. So 91% is 20 charisma. (20 char is the base of the stats though too so NP there.) Because the armor you gain is based on the agility of the pet, you'll also lose some armor if you go straight up self DPS/no charisma which is pretty fair. 60% of your original.

This is some great info really gives insight on how to build a ranger. Any chance you could copy this over to the ranger class post and then move the ranger class discussion to this race/class sub I'm going to start a new class over there today.
