1.5.1.0 Changes/Discussions
Re: 1.5.1.0 Changes/Discussions
Interesting! It didn't "feel" like it would be that close after what seems to be some drastic end changes. Good to know my horcs aren't so useless afterall! Definitely gonna have to do some toying with DEs now as well.

Aye I know about that, doesn't exist atm and probably wont' for a little while, current add was a quick creation to help newbies out so they get responses but you'll have to go chat/page them right now.

If there is a problem with END later on and we find it's too much of a change, the last final change would be a balance between what it is now vs before for END to balance it finally. I think we're at a good spot though and we should be alot closer now anyways than it was. I want to ensure that a HO is useful, but a Ling is useful too when you're the same class in those regards to start.
Re: 1.5.1.0 Changes/Discussions
The balance for Halfling vs other races of the class makes sense now that you've shared some light. But, what about halflings being viable as any class now? Halflings are arguably good at every class now vs elfs only being good at casters, horcs only being good at fighters, etc. Are they by design a jack of all trades the best at none? Or are there more calculations I "feel" are incorrect/unbalanced?
Re: 1.5.1.0 Changes/Discussions
judgeing by the other thread it seems the races will generally kill each other in the same amount of attacks not hits and just have it a factor of steady hitting and luck. i think that makes lings better overall and alot more versatile. aswell as dark elf will have great dodge solid damage solid hps and solid MR and a cherry on top with darkvision...
a horc will be slightly favorable at the cost of losing to every chanter, i dont think its a legit trade off but we will see

HO's are still a little better at being physical brutes and will win a little more on average. I intended them to be. It's more balanced though in the fact hat a ling can actually win sometimes, before hand there was no chance. It really depends on what you want though. HO slayers are probably very fun and I'd pick one over a ling just for the fact of the overpowering backstabs. The negative though is that HO's will get eaten against spell casters while halflings should have a chance overall too. In some cases the HO or Ling might be useful in certain OADs and such too as they come out.
I probably wouldn't make a magic caster ling but I don't see them being terrible. Not amazing, but still might be good against physical classes but not against other heavier magic races.
It's tough to say though, most of it needs testing. I can't really say 100% how everything will play out yet, cause I simply don't know yet.
Re: 1.5.1.0 Changes/Discussions
Peeps won't want a ling spell caster unless cleric, peeps would want 21 to 23 builds more so
Re: 1.5.1.0 Changes/Discussions
why do a ling caster when you can do gnome, they also got a big hp boost lol. gnome for sure now screw elemental. the only reason to not do gnome before was the low hp now its a no brainer imo. but ya I liked everything but the messing with end. it should be like agi, 1 point should matter quite a bit, let alone several points
Re: 1.5.1.0 Changes/Discussions
i said in the other thread that extra hps, higher dodge, lower dmg output was too much in conjunction together. agile tanky mages will rule the world now lawl. for awhile then that will be fixed and a new top will reign. nothing that's unexpected to me. balance takes a long time, and its even harder when basing everything on gimped classes (i.e. clerics that heal 2x in pvp) etc. may make an event fair i suppose, but at the same time how will you ever balance a heal spell or anything else so people can just use every abilty they want in events in the future? you cant. hell you cant even script the events to run themselves for the future with such weird rules.
elemental is very viable now, unless changed, because shits going to be mage heavy now.
