Backstab Mechanic - Is there another way?
Re: Backstab Mechanic - Is there another way?
The command you're looking for is /autosneak. Set it to a macro, turn it on and off as needed.

No he's looking for a separate /sneak command. aka go west, /sneak east. Like RoK had, it would be helpful for sure. I've mostly become used to toggling autosneak but I'm not really a fan of it.
Anyway I asked for this a while ago but NH poopooed the idea.

ROK I'm certain never had it. But yeah this isn't on my todo list for a long time.
In terms of backstab, if it was easily made to backstab, then the damage would most likely be lowered to x2.5 on slayers, not x4 (and 3x with DW). The movement offset some of it, and I feel it's just though they still have the highest damage in game of all really. It wouldn't make much sense that they get x4 damage from simply using one /hide command. AKA with 2.5x-3x they'd still get 50-100% more damage then just regular attacking.

Could do like Aardwolf does and make the so you can only backstab as an opening attack, and once the NPC has been attacked you can't backstab that NPC again. Would remove the need to move anymore

That sounds ok actually, but maybe combine it with a critical hit chance (not applied to backstabs). Basically a chance to do extra damage with normal attacks (INT based chance?).
I am guessing there would need to be a cool down for backstab to work again then (against the same victim, and what about other member of the party)?
A cool down on the backstab itself would probably need to be applied... hmmm... getting awkward.
Disclaimer: Any ideas I come up with may not even meet my approval. I am just posting an idea based on the topic I have just read.

That is extremely awkward and still would require removal of damage becaues you aren't hiding anymore to backstab.
