Of all the class mechanics the only one that I think I truly hate is backstab. Not the damage, not that it exists, but the having to leave square and return before you can do it again. It was the reason I never wanted to play a slayer in ROK, and am reluctant to play one now.
It makes level such a pain, with it being four keys/clicks to get an attack off. Direction, Direction Back, /hide, and then the attack. It also makes Slayers not very viable on several bosses in game. (This may on purpose).
Lastly from a build perspective it seems a lot of extra work has to go into making up for this mechanic, aka adding up/down to vila traps in dreads. Endless rooms for moshes. And others.
Is there any true benefit to forcing the slayer/brig to leave square before another bs can be initiated? Can it be replaced with a /reapper command or something similar? Or am I missing something and completely wrong? Open discussion ...and go!

Yea they definitely are more of a chore to level. IMO the mechanic helps to counter the fact slayers are by far the highest burst dmg. That delay means people have a split second to react and pop a pot or heal, without it I feel slayers would be enormously scarier. They are already scary but if those 2 hits happened faster then man I dunno, it could be too much.
FWIW I think the xmas boss is the only one you can't stab on, but that doesn't actually matter there. Builders have been adding up/down to certain rooms so slayers can still do their thing.

Folder is right, if a slayer could do 2 quick back stabs, most would die if hits landed
And yes some oad were designed so a slayer wouldn't do it easy.
I would like to request the skill /sneak into a room, if it exists I don't know or haven't seen it yet since I'm level 16 on a Thief. Doing everything in autos autosneak leaves you exhausted a lot.
And my suggestion would be implementing a check on how many squares you can travel in sneak or autosneak based on int, since almost all assy are str based this would exh the saur and other low int slayers ,so it would give it a different spin?

I think the mechanics are balanced. Let's not forget they get to sneak around and hide.

Removing the need for them to leave the room to backstab would make them OP. Which means their damage would have to be nerfed to make up for it, otherwise you have characters putting out upwards of 1800 damage with div and no drawback whatsoever.

I like how it is make them unique. They are pretty much the only class that just doesn't sit there and click the same button over and over. Takes a bit more skill to use and level and for that you get a bit more damage. Even the quickest lose a round of attacks over say 5-6 rounds because it takes a second or so to do 2 backstabs rather than just fury macro the same button.

I just want a command, /sneak so I will not keep dragging monsters in the wrong direction. It's annoying while leveling cause it drags monsters away from the leveling party so then interrupting the rest of the party
