Remnants of the Past

In the early years of the Remnant War, the people of Alderra built many watchtowers to keep an eye on the Omaclarans and have some forwarning that they were coming. Many of these towers were completely annihilated during the war, leaving little more than rubble behind, if even that. But one tower to the east of what became Turenyara survived mostly intact, and while it was quickly overgrown by the forests, recently it was rediscovered, and the people intended to restore it to its former glory and use.

Omaclara, however, had other ideas, as the tower had become home to a regiment of Remnant soldiers who intended to wage a surprise attack against Bityrn before their discovery. Now, not only are the people who want to restore the tower unable to do so, many of them are also dying, and the Remnants will not back down. Down in the basement of the tower, something else seems to have been uncovered by the construction and the fighting, and it does not seem happy...

The sounds of screaming and the smell of burnt flesh carry on a sharp northern wind. It seems to be coming from near Turenyara...

The Ruined Watchtower is now open for exploration. In the next day or two, I'll post a short piece of fiction detailing more stuff. I just wanted to make sure the area opening was on the forums
