Only one can be coated on the weapon, and its similar to having lets say, a small div bonus. So you could have a 'fire scarab blade'. So kind of a mix of what we talked about.

You cant base the old div system with this one. The last one was a mess. I want to simplify it.

I like that. Simplifies things, and doesn't require such a hassle for new players. I like the Bless from before, but you don't lose any RP with this idea. Cool.

This is exactly how I see it as well.

Very annoying for new players to obtain so I would love to see temples offer the blessings for a price. There would still be a reason to have your own blessing team (so you didnt have the pay the price). But as it currently is blessing just further divide the power between vets and new players which is a bad thing.

+1 to Chris' suggestion.
So we can have Blesses, Enchant and... Auras maybe?
It would be fun that once you pick an Aura you need to stick with it. You can't change it.

Maybe that is what temples can do. There used to be that "Make an Offering" button. What if blessing only lasts for so many hours, or days or something. And to keep your blesses up you make offerings at temples?

Or maybe the offering can bless something for that specific divinity, and it costs a decent bit of gold. Like a post I made somewhere else, it could be overpriced so that people would rather find someone with a decking team. But can use this service if they are in dire need.

Would basically be another gold sink.

I made a comment on decking in your other thread here. Personally I can't stand the idea of a temporary bless mechanic. I do enjoy the idea of donations to the temple being useful......but before I endorse the idea of using temples for bless I have to know if Chris is going to institute a Luck stat at any point because I would find it wonderfully ironic that you have to donate to your temple to increase your Luck.

Also my idea from the other thread referenced above seems to be a basic continuation along the idea that Satsujin referenced in this thread and was quoted a few posts above this.

Luck... I remember when there were rumors that donating at your temple had a chance to make your THAC0 better in RoK.

The 2% item could be an Ember (OH MY I USED THE NAME.) that grants an aura to an item and a very small div bonus.

If temples do allow blessing, its going to be 2x or 3x the cost. I don't particularity like the idea but it shouldn't ruin the reason why bless teams would be made, in any case.

There we go, we found a use for your embers.

We could even have several ember sizes (Small ember, medium ember, large ember or whatever), and run the percentages by 1, 2, 3 and so on. Embers could also add a +1/+1. Embers could be replaceable if a stronger version is found (but I am not too sure if the ember should be returned).

Anyway I like where this is going.

I'm not sure if I want it replaceable, for sure if that is the case then you don't gain the ember back.

If you don't have them replaceable or removable it would mean items would have higher values before they ran out. I.E. You'd choose carefully or aim to get more then one set for things, might be a good idea for how long an item can keep circulated anyways.

But if its replaceable, it'll just break the one already 'equipped'.

Instead of the ability to replace, what if you had to use the same ember to try to improve it further, and each time you add one the chance of breaking and losing the weapon goes up?
