Basic Feedback

Postby shadeoux » Tue Nov 29, 2016 12:49 am

Ok, now that I have a good understanding of how the game works and have played it a few days I would like to offer some feedback from a newplayers
perspective.

I have tinkered with the Melee System, on a very minor way, and thus have very little to offer on the Melee side.

The spellcaster side though, I feel I have a semi firm idea on how it works having an almost 20 level Sorcerer. While not having experienced the
high end side or any PK I do like how the magic system works, I have a couple of questions perhaps someone can answer, or maybe suggestions others
know of to my dilemma and know workarounds.

1) I know you can click the button and do melee attacks with mouse-click against the portraits of the mobs you wish to attack. My question being, can you set up the left click to do a specific spell, and the right click to do a different one, then if I have a "Gaming" mouse, the ten key on it do other
spells. I am just basically pushing the up arrow to repeat the last command in fights to cast spells.

2) I heard the spell enchanting gains a new level every 5 levels, do other spells gain power in similar ways like Golem?

3) I feel the spells, while very specific to each class, seem to be very few for mages, are there any thoughts of adding other spells, and if so, will the Pbase be able to offer suggestions to new spells/abilities to fill in some holes that "I" may feel exist. The holes I am speaking of, there are no new spells between 3 and 10, and the level 10 spell I couldn't even cast it until I was 13(Though it may have been my bad understanding).
If a person starts to play, and gets to level 9 and still has only two options for spells, they may feel a bit underwhelmed,

In response, I would suggest perhaps upgrades to the current spells the level 1 Beam, have an upgrade at level 5 that doubles the spell, so you cast
it and every 5 levels another beam is added, to a maximum of 5 beams. And to not make it to overpowered have the number of beams scale down some in individual damage.

Example. (I don't know how the damage is scaled exactly this is just an example)

Based off of a level 1 caster with max Int.
Before -=- 20 damage.
After -=- 20 damage

level 5 caster, 2 beams now off 1 cast.
Before -=- 50 damage.
After (.6 of original damage per beam) -=- 30 damage x2 bolts = 60 damage now, each beam with a chance to miss.

Fast forward to level 25, 5 beams now off 1 cast.
Before -=- 250 damage
After (.6 of original damage still per beam) -=- 150 damage x5 = 750 damage now, each beam with a chance to miss.

Eventually with 3 consecutive casts with the points allotted, that would raise it to 15 total beams hitting in 3 casts (1 turn) totaling out at 2250 damage and a potential of a 3.0x growth to the spell over all.

It sounds like a lot, but it is something I am tossing around as an idea. Perhaps other suggestions would be lower the number of beams, get the second beam at level 10, then the third at level 20, potentially limiting the damage now to a total of 9 beams in 3 casts (1 turn ) totaling out the damage at 1350 a round, raising it up from the hypothetical 750 to a potential of 1.8x growth to the spell overall.

--------------------

The above is simply a hypothetical suggestion on how you can possible change things up a bit and filling in the holes that "I" feel are there with the mage class imho.

Being a glass cannon of a class also, I would get rid of the spell "Power" or change it to a self buff for "Intelligence" or even give the sorcerer an option to choose between the buffs.

Please done take this as criticism, I am simply offering ideas out there is all.

Thanks I'll think about other ideas, since this is so long winded, and probably confusing.

Hit ALT, Go into OPTIONS then MACROS, edit your left and right mouse keys. You can do middle mouse too. You can't do all 10 keys though right now nor am I spending time on the old client. You can setup different attacks with the different mouses, scroll the mouse to change the attack (or click the icons on the right, etc.)

Golems get more powerful every level.

For sorcs, them doing 250 damage would be pretty scary and probably way to high.. All the high HP classes would get almost rounded by a sorc. The reason why they have lower damage is because their hitrate is generally higher vs physical, but it is reality to wisdom, much like AGI is to physical. When the higher levels are out I will be adding more but there is enough spells right now and I don't want to add more because of balancing reasons. I want to balance first, then add as needed.

In the future we could add a third beam type and spread it out to earlier. But beam does increase in damage. It would just be something that might satifisy the user more but the damage itself would scale the same in the end.

Int would be a good way to raise the damage of all spells afterwards when we need balancing done, I think it would be a interesting thing to do. They will keep power though, it's a party buff, or buff your pet with it.
