Low Gold level at start out

Nitehawk: Are you intending gold to be balanced so that a player can upgrade their gear at every interval that offers upgrades? Currently, you can upgrade at levels 9, 15, and 20. Moreover, should players be able to sb/bless/enchant gear at these levels or should decking be something new players don't worry about till level 20+?

Reason I'm asking is that you posted previously not to judge druid low dmg with lvl 10-15 morph until blesses came out. Well, they are out now, but a level 10-15 would never be able to afford decking their gear on top of lvl/spell costs.

I was thinking that gear prior to level 20 should come decked/sb, or at least, store bought gear. Alternatively, we could introduce a budget sb/blessing options similar to how we have dull enchant.

I am not doing a budget SB/Bless option. It is getting overly complicated if you have to do something that varies from the current bless which is +1/-1. Budget SB'ing also makes no sense as there is really only SB, and not SB. Having some random in between thing is very odd imo.

I strongly disagree with gear being fully decked anyways. SB 'maybe' but we can also look into the cost of SB/Bless/Enchant too. And probably the cost of their spells as well (as we talked about at another post). Something like Bless+Dull enchant could be affordable for the masses.


Another issue weapons don't have proper max values too. Lat said he was working on this but don't know if he finished it yet too. It should help out a little as well.

Cool. Was just curious if it was intended that players deck early gear or not because it drastically changes the gold discussion for levels <20. If low level players shouldn't be expecting to deck gear, then I think gold is okay right now minus casters who rarely can afford new spells.

I wouldnt make all gear come soulbound. I personally prefer to not have it sb at the early stages so I can use it on more than one toon if needed and it makes for a huge pain in the ass when all your gear in your vault is thrown together and you try to pull a piece out only to find out its soulbound to someone else and you cant.

Also what if you no longer need some of your lower level gear (special drops mainly) and you wanna try and sell it to someone? I say leave sb'ing a choice and maybe lower the amount a little? 3k for an emberstone plus 3k for the scroll seems a bit high.

Do you remember the 10k soulstones? How about the 5k ones? Even at lvl 25 though in RoK you always had a chance to fizzle and lose the SS. I've got a cleric high enough level to make the scrolls and although the 3k is a pain for lower levels I think it evens out considering most people appear to be still in the mid level range.

I adjusted spell prices. It grows up after level 8 by 250 gold per. For example, level 8 spell is 250. level 10 spell is 750, level 11 spell is 1000, etc. Most spells had a good chop off price. A couple spells don't go by this though, (SB, enchant, etc) but should still be ok price wise.

Blank scrolls decreased from 250 to 100 gold.
Bless scrolls decreased from 1250 gold to 500 gold.
Emberstone decreased from 3000 gold to 2500 gold.
SB scroll decreased from 3000 gold to 2500 gold.
Dull enchant scroll decreased from 1250 gold to 500 gold.
Soft enchant scroll decreased from 2500 gold to 1000 gold.

The second cities have their gear SB'd as well. I think the prices are more fair now anyways. Depending on how quests go we might change this again.
