love the bow idea hate the arrow idea unless there is a way for the ranger for search or craft them while outside of towns and what not i think arrows are beyond pointless
that and its another thing that a ranger would have to run back to town for other than potions when everything else just runs for one thing so unless theres a huge benefit to them i wouldnt do it
Bows & Arrows

For me that would mean that during leveling I'd probably not equip my arrows. I would instead carry a stack for the sudden rare appearance or pvp action. Since the bonus to damage will be small, I just don't see wasting time and gold keeping stocked up. Still, some people WILL make sure they are always loaded and capped. If the damage added was large, of course we would try to use arrows all the time and make sure we were well stocked whenever we left town.
Since we are still in testing, I'd set the stacks to 50. It will be easy to change if we find it necessary after it's checked out by the players. I've played a few games where ammo was needed. This will be the first one where the bow works without the ammo slot being used. I'm all for variety and love seeing the "mold" broken so I'm looking forward to seeing how this works out.

I like that they work without arrows but seems weird to have other arrows to use too. Maybe they could just create a coating of some type that is applied. Say you can create a poison and a div coating that you can apply (much like how the scrolls work?) to put a new on youd break the old (still would have a gold sink and it would make more sense seeing you didnt have invisible arrows and div arrows)? idk just an idea.
You are technically using standard arrows, it's just a form of not worrying about ammo unless something special comes along to keep it simple. You don't need to use it, but it gives them certain bonuses when it's needed. I'm not sure how I'm going to go about arrows, if its going to be regular arrows that you can coat them with certain things, or pre-made type arrows. Maybe both (i.e. you get sharp arrows, you combine/craft them to save money with NPC drops.) For now we'll do some testing before that anyways.

I don't think it'll be used for leveling unless you have the gold. It's more of a PVP or 'when you need extra damage' against boss mobs thing. Remember it works without just fine. Eventually when we know the right amount we can set the stack amount higher. Again, I can set it to 999 if needed and a stack of 999 would last you virtually all day. Obviously that's too high, but I'm just saying.
Based on what I think and everyone else, I'm going to go with the 99-100 stack to start. I think it will have to be higher in the future, but we'll test it out for now and see.

Flame, explosive, and poison arrows please. :>
Re: Bows & Arrows
Think this way.
Bows work like other weapons do, but can be enhanced with an item for a period of time, which would be until you run out of ammo. See it that way rather then ammo being 'required' all the time and always running out.
I am going to leave them SB for now, haven't gotten much reply about it cept one person..

Re: Bows & Arrows
They are added now. Including a ranger lounge in canopia forest that has more unique arrows.
The bows themselves are better then swords as I've lowered the ranger damage to compensate for this.
Sharp Arrows give +1/+1, though might be harder to notice at level 1. (probably only a damage or two more.) Jagged arrows give +2/+2. That's probably all I will do for bought arrows that are just damage.
I will eventually add some special arrows, but for now it wont' be just in yet. I can only do div arrows just yet but I'll add banes and other things soon at least to be 'ready' to be used.
Since rangers do a lower overall damage, they minimum on bows are actually higher. It's harder to notice at lower levels, but as the better weapons come out, rangers minimum will be overall higher, thus a more stable average.

Re: Bows & Arrows
Limited ammo makes sense.
How about quivers with unlimited ammo instead!

Lul. 8)
You can now buy stacks of items in stores for 1 gold (or more)
For example, before 99 arrows would cost 99 gold. Far too expensive for tier 1 arrows.
You can now buy 10 arrows for 3 gold. So kind of like a quiver of them 8)
Selling them still works the same (individual sells), and that's fine. One day I'll change it up. So selling arrows will wield nothing unless the arrow is worth more then 1 gold per.

Re: Bows & Arrows
My complanits:
Overall, those who haven't played a ranger right now pre-pets... there is a ton of work to do.
Nitehawk is open to suggestions and the above are mine and tbh mandatory.
Arrow stack count needs to be higher so I don't have an inventory of arrows to annoying equip so soon. Plus having the space could be used for pots and such.
Once pets are introduced, as I'm hoping the damage they do will accommodate the lower dps rangers do currently.
