SCROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLS.
Anyways, scrolls are going to be used to enchant/bless/sb. If you have the spells associated with these, you can buy blank scrolls and scribe them. You can then give them to people for gold. You will not be able to sell them back to the shop for obvious reasons of gold hoarding.
Eventually other things could be enscribed on scrolls (one time spells?), but we'll leave it simple like this for now and only for means of modifying items.
--Dull, Soft, Bright enchants will be sold at a store. Enchanters will be able to create them, and also be able to do Brilliantly at level 25. Yes, brilliantly. There is a higher level then that since I'm changing the way things work. (Oooo.) First city will have the Dull enchant, second cities will have both dull/soft, etc.
--Blesses will most likely be sold in temples. I'm thinking they will sell the bless they provide. They could also just do it directly to an item, but I'm not sure about that. To keep everything simple and similar, I was aiming to make it the same scroll buying mechanic so there is no confusion. Clerics will be able to do it as well.
--Sbs will also be sold at the store. Clerics as well can handle creation of SB scrolls.
--I will also be aiming to bring out the first embers as well that work with the scrolls as well. I'm not sure whom is going to get the spell to create the scroll that binds the ember to an item though.

The store prices will be rather inflated. It's there to be bought, but the better option is obviously to have a character to do it. The choice is yours though, I know sometimes people can't be bothered and will shell out money just because.
Once we have a trade window it'll be alot easier to deal with 'trading' scrolls for gold to other players. For now it's not such a big deal though.

Re: Scrolls
Will the predone shop scrolls bind to users on pickup? Or will I be able to buy a stack of bright scrolls on a 25er, and vault them so that my level 3 Druid can bright his Hammer of Destruction(no, not really)?
Re: Scrolls
Enchants are in.
Just to state, you have a flat 10% of failing the enchant, in any case.
They don't bind on use. It's fine to throw them in a vault and use them on lower characters, it isn't a big deal to me on that regard as enchants don't have a big effect like they used to do. They simply enhance rather then make the item like ROK did.

Re: Scrolls
Bless and Soulbound is in.
I might eventually name the spells more proper. like 'c Inscribe' or something. Future stuff.
Anyways, bless works same as enchant overall. Soulbound does as well, except it requires an emberstone as well which will be eaten on use.
I increase the failrate to 15% fizzle. That's it.
Thx.
