Re: Quality of Life Changes to /hide and Backstab Mechanics
I'm sure some of what you just mentioned is intended.
I think Slayers are in a great place.

@Miach, anyone who is half decent with a slayer will have hidden and attacked before anyone can /search, unless the person spams /search and if their doing that during a fight they are going to waste attacks (and have a chance of being unsuccessful anyway).

I think it's clear the community is pretty divided on this one. It's certainly a big issue but hard to come up with a something everyone will be pleased with. I'd expect it to remain as is until some new solution that can appease most people is discussed.

I say we draw straws, shortest wins... or loses... or something.

Or just make a poll simply asking should the room restriction be removed and add a slight balancing mechanic TBD.
All of the negatives I've seen are against the actual balance mechanics I proposed (which were just to be used as examples but thats another story) and not against removing the core move restriction. If the community supports removing it then we could look toward the balancing aspect. After discussing it I support a simple cooldown timer between backstabs. This prevents instant double backstabs and mimics the time delay for moving around.
Edit: If Hawk or Staff throw up a poll somewhere I think it'd be very helpful. It'd either prove the community is split, wants it changed, or wants it the same.

...
A poll is a ridiculous idea!
Drawing straws is the only way to go.
