Spell Backfires Change.
Spell Backfires Change.
How about changing the "spell backfires" mechanic (it happens when you cast the spell again on someone while the spell is still active) from spells like Hover. Change it so, that instead of backfiring, all it does is reset the spell timer?

The reason why I don't want this is I don't want lazy mode people, specially with negative effect spells: I want it to actually wear off on them so it's not a perma thing and gives the attacker a chance to at least be okay for a round or two.
Basically, I 'want' you to pay attention and not be lazy.
Re: Spell Backfires Change.
Yea I agree there is more tactics to having to pay attention and timing it out rather that endless buffs.
Re: Spell Backfires Change.
The tactical argument cuts it, the laziness one doesn't imo. If you don't want people to be lazy, remove macros, alias, key short cuts and maps.
You could argue convenience vs laziness for a lot features, in a lot of games.
However the tactical side aye, never thought of that. I was thinking of beneficial spells rather than the debuff spells.
So how come stoneskin, power, aegis and shell don't backfire? What happens when you re-cast them (I fear if they change I will have made a lot of people happy with me
)?

Re: Spell Backfires Change.
They probably should, but it's not on my todo list.
Re: Spell Backfires Change.
I have nothing against buff or debuff, but if changes were to come then a bar to show how long till buff wears off, or if a player is debuff then something for the party members to see.
One of the reason for wanting the no backfire or something similar is so the buff and debuff can see what's going on even in oads, this would make tactics better then watching a stopwatch to know when to cast which would be painfull.
