Here is the image and our discussion in game. I thought I'd share my amazing paint mockup with everyone and maybe get the juices flowing. This would bring the majority of our user base to the game. Chances are without a mobile version it will suffer similar to ROK (besides never having the server up...) user base also dropped off long before that occurred if I recall right. what do you think?

From Grahf: if you do that, with touch controls it should work. oh i forgot a macros button for spells
From Grahf: but you could touch attack then a player to atack them
From Grahf: or cast, which a long press brings up a spell list, select a spell, then touch the player, or a short press just selects the last spell chosen
From Grahf: and the stats/items/skills/map button brings up a pop up window or better yet replaces the chat window and then dissapears when done
From Grahf: ill post this to the forum too
From Lateralus: i think you would do some spell / attack icons then select then hit a player or npc to cast one slected
From Grahf: yeah that works. pictures might be better anyways
From Grahf: do like a compass for map etc
From Grahf: maybe make the icons for spells interchangeable
From Lateralus: i would just make map clickable or just have yea arrows for nesw
From Grahf: so most often used spells will be up front and less used like illuminatus can be manual pulled up as needed
From Lateralus: im pushing chris to put pics for the skills in this client as well too. i uploaded a bunch they are like the new div icons
From Grahf: maybe a translucent arrow pa over the text box in the corner for movement
From Grahf: would be fast for backstabbing
From Grahf: up arrow down arrow attack icon player
Layout idea for a mobile client of the game
Re: Layout idea for a mobile client of the game
Isn't a bad idea for a client, though I'd prefer using the mechanics of how the new client will look.
The layout is pretty simple could work fine.
I will be looking into mobile clients (and working with people to get one going) once I stop updating the client 5 times a day though. I was also hoping for an actual web based client or a universal client that we can stick on FB. I would think doing that would be the bees knees for getting alot of random joes.

Oh i never even thought about a web based client. that would be great for people trying to sneak some game time in at work but can't DL a game to their work computer. plus we could add all the FB moms playing farmville to our ranks lol.
Re: Layout idea for a mobile client of the game
as chris said its a ways down the road. id like to see the actual client completed as well as the game itself completed before any effort even goes in to helping on something like a web client or mobile client since thats something someone else could probably handle.
Re: Layout idea for a mobile client of the game
ohya i agree with that completely. The last thing you want is to have an incomplete game in a mobile store. kids are fickle and it might ruins the chances of the game catching on. Doesn't stop us from playing with the idea!
