Ugliness and obesity
Re: Ugliness and obesity
Pally in this game game really suck, I leveled one and not making another, he got owned by a cleric last and now I quit playing him and went to half orc / other raves cause the half orc are over powered
Re: Ugliness and obesity
lolwut.
Only slightly related to this whole discussion - we could just get rid of the "somewhat ugly" line. For other stats there is only a line about them if they are above a threshold (16 or 18? I dunno what it is).

Re: Ugliness and obesity
the objective is to make chr stat useful, aswell as every class use all 6 stats in some degree to allow diversity and player preference. not just 24 builds over and over. chr was just the first step i noticed that made no sense cuz nearly every character ignores it. it is true, the ugliness could be adjusted or removed entirely and the stat just be called luck or whatnot. but it doesnt change the fact that your game has 144 choices in race/class and almost none of that content is utilized. be that as it may, most of you came from a similar game with the same character design and are comfortable with your min/maxing choices, however new players just look at this shit all perplexed going why is everything ugly and unused.
you guys are leveling to 25 in a week, how long is it going to last when 1) theres only 24 good characters 2) 5 divs to choose from and 3) very few valid creations for bossing/pvp. im pretty sure noone will level every div of every class of every race because 84% of them suck. you may level your preferred pk class in all 5 divs (5 weeks) 2 bossers in each div (10 weeks) the other classes u want 1 of (10 weeks) a nostalgic pos build or 2 (4 weeks).
or you make all the classes/races/stats useable and maybe gain some new players from outside of rev rok and nm.
EDIT: wayne asked me to try this game out, i play 2 other muds currently NM which is a dying game because characters need 4.75 billion exp for level 31-40 in which i have almost completed 6/8 classes, and batmud which is more diverse like this game but has a steady 900+ players. its one of the worlds best muds partly because u can respec class/race at will (costs exp), the game strayed away from min/maxing, has player created areas, items, guilds, classes etc., it also has 7 continents of content(because its been around 20 years), a great informative website, and most classes have unique niches that go along with most other race/classes, for instance multiple gnolls in the same party give them all combat bonuses, races all have 1 unique feature, it even has ships you can purchase and battle with on the open sea, has an assassin guild that just plops a name on you(lvl based) and u try to pk lol, and there is no player clans its the class u pick is your clan, it has a racial chat channel and class(guild on there). however it is a 1 alt game meaning 1 character period, was set to 2 alts a couple years ago but its still 1 at a time, which imo is its only downfall, however it would be like a knight on here needing the assistance of a chanter for a brill scroll except instead of having the mage yourself u need to find a friend.
i'm just trying to help the game out instead of it being the same 30 people indefinitely.

I would have to agree, though there is some small amount of choice. Every stat should matter for some reason. I don't think intel allows you to search for players is enough as it requires 1 stam as well, it's just something that pretty much doesn't come up. It can be part of a bigger intel package though.
Spellcasters seem to dump their extra points in to charisma as strength doesnt help them at all, which is extremely disappointing to me. A made a Dwarf Necromancer in a way I would a warmage in other games, 20 19 22 17 19 10, thinking well I can hit decently hard and have spells. However I quickly found out even with 20 strength it was only hitting for 1 point of damage at level 1 and up to level 15 was hitting for far less than my monk with the same weapons and 3 less strength. I understand there's going to be differences, but we're talking like 30/40 damage less per stamina.
This makes strength completely useless on spellcasters and makes the whole idea of customization mute. It will always be x p p p p D (dump stat).
You can almost say the same for attacking classes, intelligence in general doesn't do enough for certain classes so they will either be p p p x ? ? (with a possible +1 in there). There's at least some customization to be done here though where in spellcasters there's actually none.
It would be nice to be able to have more room to customize for sure.

Re: Ugliness and obesity
I feel the need to chime in on this as well I made a gnome slayer with 22 int mainly because I wanted my slayer to be hard to find. So far after some testing level 20 players with 16 int will fine me after only two searches and it feels like almost every mob ingame can find me in no time at all. I have to agree that every stat should do something benificial for every setup. This game is still new and needs balancing still but that's the thing with a work in progress is that we can try new thi ng s and if we don't like then we can use a backup to fix what was done.
