Hi Roxx.

It was talked about in multiple threads, as often happens. The truth is priests were overpowered, and I know if you played one then maybe this feels bad but balance needs to happen for the betterment of the game. Priests are still quite durable, they aren't squishy by any means.

I understand your point about the heavy armor D&D bit, but I think it's fair to say (based on the threads we had about this) that most people feel priests in heavy armor are not very lore appropriate. One of those impossible to make everyone happy kind of things.

Don't give up on your cleric if you like healing. They are very valued in all aspects of gameplay and I promise they are still very strong. If you truly can't stand the idea of healing now that your wear light armor instead of heavy armor then try something else. Maybe a Pally if you like heavy armor + heals.

I dont care about the nerf itself, if you wanted to remove armor from heavy armor gear and make clerics a little more squishy thats ok, but in games like this, RP and visualization of your character is important to some people, i dont make gnome clerics cause i think its weird to ME as a RPG/D&D player.
I created a cleric at the start of the game because it was a HEAVY ARMOR using class with a shield that supported with healing ( i like healing roles, and specialy ones using heavy armor like holy paladin in WoW or clerics in D&D), i just wanted that to stay the same as when i created it, i created for this purpose.

Having it removed kinda destroys the character for ME, and for me only thats why i said " MY OPINION" , i dont think changes in the game to make balance are bad, i just wanted the core thing the class can use/cast remained the same.

In RP aspects, I understand that, but I don't know how to overall justify keeping it just for the sake of RP.

I'm not saying RP is ignored, but for the sake of balance it was needed. Clerics were a bit powerful, they shouldn't be able to tank 10 guys and heal in the process like nothing. In alot of fights I had seen it was the case where it was too hard to take down one cleric, let alone two. They are still the goto for healing in parties and will always be though. All classes, including clerics, will get more spells as we progress as well. There is obviously a high chance that clerics will get spells to do with healing, obviously. Overall though the nerf wasn't to the point where it makes clerics squishy or useless, byfar.

If you leave because of this, I'm sorry to see you go. Hopefully you'll come back in the future when there is more, but I hope that doesn't come to it. As Folder said, a Paladin is a good choice for a middle ground. They don't have the best heals compared to clerics, but they aren't terrible either. They do have some decent damage output (and can now use blunt weapons nicely), have heavy armor, and with Aegis get some nice tank overall.

I find my pally to be in a really good place right now. I beat on people with a hammer that used to be a frying pan and I wear a onesie so I look ridiculous, but performance wise they are good. Give it a try if you don't find cleric appealing anymore!
