Yea this is what I'd go with too. Also instead of rerolling your monk there is an option to reallocate stats for a small exp loss then you won't have to start all the way over.

Also I'd suggest finding a clan since that will be the best way to get caught up on everything new here in this game.

DAMN! I ended up deleting the first one. Damn it. I was looking for like a clan recruitment thread but didn't find anything. Any suggestions on that?

Also, how do I purchase these premium points? Are the items you buy with them level tagged? Like, do you have to be a curtain level to use good BOA items?

yea might not be bad to put a little prompt when deleting saying did you know you can reallocate stats and whatnot.

when you log on if you are not in a guild it should show you 3 guilds that are recruiting. I believe you can use /gapply to ask for an invite to one or can do a /who to see if any leaders are on to page for an invite.

prestige points are mostly for winning events and you can spend them on getting the top items in the game.

Yes items are level locked meaning to use the best items youll have to be level 25.

Hmmm I was in them iddle of writing a reply to this thread... must have got sidetracked by pretty flowers or something... Was gonna say (for monk and most other fighter classes) STR/END/AGL max, WIS high, INT meh, CHR dump stat (sort off).
Not sure if you were around when CHR gave HP/MP bonuses (in Rok), well it does here.

Have a look at the wiki: https://ember-online.com/wiki/index.php ... ayer_Guide (it has the END table and CHR table for HP).

You can also (as pointed out already +1 a stat at the cost of 5 stat points, unless you are HElf or Human, they do it for 2 stat points). For the fighter classes +1 STR/END or AGL, depends on how you feel and what you want.

If you still have no clan, when you log in it will show you the 3 most active clans at the time of log in. You can choose to apply (I believe there are instructions when you log on on how to do this) to clans in game.
You might want to run around and interact with the clans (people in them) first and see what they are like. Do not listen to the tales that X clan suXXors, make your own mind up.
The top three clans right now (in alphabetical order): Defiance, Pandemonium and Silhouette. There are other clans off course.

PP can only be earned though events or through trade with another player.

In terms of slayers, they aren't great at PVE, but good at PVP. They can normally break the balance in parties despite what anyone says. I would though pick high strength races though, but that's my opinion.

As people said reallocation is an easy way to fix stats. At lower levels the cost is pretty low, so it's worthwhile if you leveled a bit.

Good luck mate ;)

Welcome!

As a first class a monk is a great choice for a few reasons:

1. One of the best classes for PVP and PVE
2. You get an extra attack from equipping 2 weapons, unlike every other class. This means in a way you end up lvling a bit quicker
3. Monks are relatively cheap to finish equipping, 2 weapons and a body armour is all you need.
4. Monks have a /meditate skill which regenerates all of your health out of combat. This is fantastic when you're a new player who has no idea what they're doing.

As for stats/races any of the following would work:
(str, agi, end, int, wis, chr)

Saurian (22,22,19,10,14,10 then +1 either str, agi or end)
Half Orc (24,19,22,10,13,10 then +1)
Dwarf (21,19,23,10,19,10 then +1)
Goblin (19,22,20,10,16,10 then +1)
Drakeblood (21,22,20,10,12,13 then +1)
DE (20,22,18,10,20,10 then +1)
Halfling (18,23,17,10,20,13 then +1)

I would max AGI on Monk, Aftershock rapes faces.

22 23 19 10 14 10 is good for Saurian.

Next i would make an Enchanter. They are very useful.

3rd i would join The Resistance, new clan booting about. Atm it's just me playing with myself.

Have you started? What do you think so far?

Also:
Do you see the stuff that some mobs drop? Hold on to everything - lots of quests demand you hand them over.
Quests themselves arent that good for exp, but are good for gold or equipment.

The quests are actually a good way of having new players actually learn where everything is at in the game, as opposed to run, kill one monster, power level, repeat.then never learn where anything is located.

Thanks for all the excellent input! You guys had some great advice. I went ahead and started leveling my new monk. My brother was in a car accident a couple days ago so I haven't been on much. I am on leveling now however. Anyone have any suggestions on where to get some good staves? I hear that the troll boss drops one, a treant elder that I haven't found drops one, and somewhere are something drops ivory nunchuks but I have no idea what it is and where it's at.

Sorry to hear about your brother, hope he's ok!

As for monk weapons, it depends entirely on what your level is, as all the gear in this game is designed for different level ranges (lvl 8+, lvl 15+, lvl 20+, lvl 25)

Monks use either staff weapons or "monk only" weapons, a good list is available on the wiki here:
https://ember-online.com/wiki/index.php ... ff_Weapons

Honestly Ivory Nunchukas would be difficult for you to obtain at level 15 on your own, and even if you got help from other players their drop rate is quite low.

I would recommend buying Bronze staves at lvl 15 and then buying Arcanite Katanas at lvl 20

If you're able to convince an Enchanter to give you some brilliant enchant scrolls they will make your equipment much more powerful.

You'll also want to buy a "bless scroll" from each of the 5 temples and apply them to all of your equipment
