Stat reallocate item

Leveling is a huge investment at current exp rates, so what about the availability or an item, or an npc, or whatever, that lets you reallocate points if you aren't happy with them? It could be level locked or expensive to prohibit it being used too much.
I was just thinking if someone levels up and realizes their stats are not great it would feel pretty bad to know that all their time was wasted and there's no going back.
The only negative I can see is people might make characters that are only good for leveling and then respec at 25, but tbh this isn't a hugely bad thing imo.

Was thinking about this a little more and there's a problem with CHR (and maybe END, I'm not sure), since it adds a non-fixed amount of hp/mp. You'd have to exclude it from this or recalculate a total. BUT if you recalc you wouldn't want a situation where someone respecs 30 times just to get the perfect amount of HP.

I feel like it would not only be pretty powerful but a lot of extra coding from Chris.
On paper I like the idea of it as like a super highend quest reward or a huge gold sink but again a whole new system and interface from Chris which is why I'm not sure we would see it.

I don't support this idea at all unfort.
Something like deleting a toon and getting lets say, half the EXP back might be a thing, to create a character. But I don't know about that either. It would only be one character though, you couldn't delete 50 of them and combine EXP.

Hmm that could be a solution. I just don't want to see a situation where someone gets discouraged and leaves the game. You know someone is going to level a 14 str assassin one day because they had no idea what they were doing :/.

Some game did something like that...
I think you could have a "resurrect" option in the character selection screen. It would destroy the character but leave a token (maybe in your vault... oh dear if you leave no room) with experience that can only be redeemed by a character with the name of the resurrected character, and the character needs to be on the same account (unless you want to leave it open for trade?).
This would have been helpful when I made a character of the wrong div and only found out after level 10... Doh!

Something like this would fit perfectly into a premium account system when we get around to that.

I think a much easier solution to implement would be a proper stat explanation on how it affects each class ... before the character is created. Sure some of the stuff is self explanatory, but if I hadn't deep dove into the forums I would have had no idea how important CHR is to a Bard.
I can see leveling a character to 20 and finding out that the stats you chose are garbage scaring off a new player for good.

Yea this would be nice to have on the character creator sheet. Soon as you select a class it explains this. Hopefully this will make it into the new client?

This is a really good ideia.
Folder has a good point too, we might wanna put things that will help us sustain an initial player base that doesn't know the game too well and that will make the commitment to lvl to 25 and be able to fix it.
My suggestion is, only let the 'resurrection' option be used once per character.
