Ranger Pet Reset
Again I'm going to have to reset rangers pets next update. Everyone who is a ranger who has a pet will get a rare soul gem, so they can capture any pet they want at 100% rates.
I'm also revising it so I don't have to do this anymore either. When a NPC is crazy powerful compared to the rest, I can't simply just fix it, as the values are coded to the character, so I'm revising how it all works so that I am able to adjust NPCs on players too. I'm looking at being able to give rangers a minimum of 3 pet slots but we'll see how it even goes. Dunno how possible it is yet.

Ranger XP Boost
Once the new update is in, there will also be a ranger level boost for 2 weeks, in which everyone will gain some extra XP and gold for leveling rangers. I think we will do one per class so we can get good information on each class and what needs fixing. So get ready for this. It pretty much is a 24 hour XP/Gold ticket added to all rangers each day.

Ranger Event & Guilds
When we are completed the two weeks of extra experience time, we will have a specific ranger only event. I'll generally have 2-3 items to give out and they will be custom and unique.
We'll also be expanding the ranger guild to have more information about rangers, I think a big problem with them is that they are harder to understand. Most new players don't understand they can even get pets or how too without being guided by players, so we're going to try to fix some things by having some tutorials and possibly selling gems in more locations. There might be a chance of seamoor selling basic pets which should help rangers out at the lower levels.

There will be some minor changes to rangers too, but generally we'll try to look at every class one at a time, get info, add guild halls, etc etc. Stay tuned for more details. Should 'hopefully' be this week for a release date on everything.

Something that might be worth looking into is starting them with a pet. I know wow shifted to that which made starting out a lot easier (learning a whole game plus a somewhat complicated / difficult capturing deal can be overwhelming). This why they wont be so handicapped when starting out.
Down the road once they get into the game and used to the class after a few levels there is a little tutorial type thing on how to capture a new pet and so on.

Could do something fun like elemental ranger, like as a skill cause they have knowledge of wind fire etc
Flaming arrows, freezing arrows, etc, then would have magic dammage instead of just physical attacks.
And best thing if just let the pet come back fully healed, so party don't stand waiting for the Ranger to constantly heaingl pet. This would take away the aggravation of being a Ranger
Golems and zombies have full life. Ranger pets should be equal in that aspect.

Ranger pets are unique and smart however, they aren't like golems or zombies.
I can fully understand the healing aspect. I have an idea for this while out of combat but I generally think it should be as it is with pet health.
Flame/etc arrows are already something we talked about, and something I'd love to eventually bring in too.

I think at one point there might have been an idea to create a new elemental archer type class so im not sure something like that would go on a ranger but maybe a new class

Going to post annoying ranger stuff as I find it while leveling one.

[12:48] You require all your stamina to revive your pet!
If you forget your pet is incapacitated and hit that it takes a stam, meaning you need to wait 8 seconds to revive.
-Rangers basically suck huge dick to level. Low starting damage and pets are fairly useless / hard to obtain for some time. Suggest making low level pets easier to obtain and perhaps tankier so they aren't just gibbed so badly. I'm at lvl14 right now and this is by far the worst class to level x.x

I don't think it would have to be a new class, just new skill for archer, like assy gained back stack.
However I'd wait till like lvl 16 before being able to use your given gods attack dammage

Yes the pets are junky, but at higher levels they do better. However, in order for them to do any kind of decent it's 10k gold total per each pet to invest in upgrades. I have in past saw or agreed ed to pet upgrades being scale able, ie level 1 1k, level 25 25k .
Please bear with it since there isn't many active Rangers and needs all the feedback on problems leveling, costs associated with leveling, solo or party style, how does your pet feel for you while fighting. If pet dies a lot what kind of upgrades does pet have. All these questions are required,
Then compare to fighting with a sorcerer golem, I'm sure a good average can be found on a sorc golem for how many rounds or fights it can survive. Then compare to Ranger pet, if Ranger pet does not last 1 full fight and sorc golem lasts 3 separate fights then there are major problems that need addressed. My sorc in dreads golem lasts 3 separate fights or more usually and created at full health, so no time in leveling lost ever compared to revive dead pet
We need to know all these dumb type questions so things can be changed and fixed
Edit we will need the stats on both solo and party leveling.
Ps, I do think a pet armor could be introduced as a oad drop so costs with pet ownership would be lowered. This way people would do the oad instead of the high gold cost to have armor heal etc. Just a thought. I lot of this info needs done before the Ranger exp event

I like the idea of ranger drops from OaDs, they just need to be in addition to other drops. Plz no OaD mob that 100% drops only a ranger pet item.

I can understand the all stamina to revive your pet in any case. Pets should probably be introduced fairly early. Bows are fairly good on rangers as having the pet will absorb alot of damage as they have a higher taunt level normally unless they are DPS style. /pet info shows it all though. Bows are decent specially when you start using arrows. We do need to sell crystals in more areas though too.
Pets are being revamped though and everyones going to lose their pet as I said, so its pretty eh as this point to talk about pets themselves until the new ones are in place except general things.

Pets are different and will always require reviving. I'm not changing this. Golems do not have the damage, nor do zombies.
A king cobra/scorp prob have around 900HP, 60 armor, average 75x3 damage (less attacks = less damage nerf, a 1 attack creature would probably have 160-180 damage). They often have nice attack agi though, which is normally between 22-24 and defense agility of about 19-22. This is all with gear anyways. Taunt level of 2 or 3. Most pets wis/int/etc can vary too, and you can get a pet that has less damage and has a taunt level of 4 and more HP and AC. AC is probably between 50-70 depending on gear.
With 23 int, golem has 690HP, taunt level of 3, 69 damage max with only 1 attack. AC of about 75ac. Attack agility of 17, defense agility of 20.
What I'm saying is there is absolutely no way the golem is better in any real shape or form. its in yee head. I will agree that health needs a change out of combat for rangers, but pets are special, they act differently, and cannot be compared to golems or zombies. Right now healing a ranger pet is annoying out of combat/etc.
You do need Charisma to have a decent pet though. I'm changing how some things work with char but yeh
