That was one of the reasons PVP on ROK was something I avoided at all costs, because I'd lose millions of experience every time someone killed me, and that would add up fast for the people who would just keep being dicks and killing the same person. I get that people like to PVP, they like to gank levelers, blah blah blah, I shouldn't lose experience just because someone else wants to be a dick and keep killing me.
Alternatively, make EXP loss only happen if you're within two levels of your killer, or if you choose to fight back/started the fight. By then a lot of classes stand a reasonable chance of not being one-shot or rounded by their attacker, and can either get away or have the ability to fight back.

I didn't think it was a big deal... But this exp loss only effects under level 25ers.

I found it to be a big deal, especially at level 24. It could take hours to make it back in worst case. And in 25+ you would be losing incredible amounts of exp after being ganked.

Experience loss upon death is currently set at 2m max. NiteHawk set it up last night. Is that too much...?

Not sure really. We haven't experienced the gain at higher levels yet. We only have our memories of RoK to look back on, but this is not RoK. There will be differences.
It sounds like it might be okay. As long as it doesn't take like 2+ hours to get it back.
Assuming that when you go above level 25 that your exp resets to 0 (if we do the rebirth version of 25+) then it would probably work well. Then it would go back down to a % while you are going back through the lower levels.

For people who know the leveling tricks from leveling on ROK, no, 2mil experience every time someone decides to be a dick is maybe an extra minute or two of work to do.
For new players when we're ready to start bringing them in though, losing 2mil experience every time someone kills you is going to get annoying as shit, because with the ROK like mechanics we have right now, we have a steep as he'll learning curve that can easily go on through level 22.
It can be addressed closer to when we're ready for true newbies though.

Is it possible to limit the exp loss in a time limit? So say I die 5 times in 10 mins and lose 10m exp you can't lose anymore for let's say...20 more mins?

I'd rather not get overly complicated like that and have to use timers for no reason.

The game consists of one alt now, so it's not like you'll have three guys hammering you often (I understand people can PK, but often in old ROK it was just one guy and his alts.)
I am going to put my foot down and there is going to be some loss. PVP and loss is part of the game, it's not meant to be friendly at every turn. Part of the thrill was actually PVPing people to death.
If anything we can lower the loss a bit. But this game is orientated about PVP. No EXP loss means carebear mode and it's too fluffy for me. Maybe a determination via your level vs their level. I.E: 2mil is base, then 20% reduction per level higher.)

Not having exp lose loses the adrenaline of being in a fight as a low level, people will not care if they die and it should not be that way. Should be a penalty for dying always.
Yes it would make things interesting since people will not run away, but meh having no penalty is stupid.

I agree, and again for the love of God, getting pked only put you back 10 minutes or so unless you died over and over again.
