New Player

Before I start I would like to apologize if I am creating this post in the wrong thread.

I'm a RoK player from way back, back when you could buy brill tickets from DM. I had a sudden urge for some nostalgia so I thought I'd jump on RoK to see what was popping but it would appear RoK is, well, dead. I noticed this game on the RoK forums and figured I'd give it a shot. Honestly, I was hoping that the old roll for your stats system would be used but I was disappointed. No biggy though! So far I have created a character and gotten a feel for the controls. It's very similar to RoK with some subtle differences. So far so good.

So, before I get vested in the game I wanted to ask some questions. Back in the day I played a slayer and monk. I took a look at the thread for classes and noticed that slayer doesn't get much love. I suppose my first question is which class is best for doing damage in PvE? Which class has the best balance for doing damage in PvE and PvP? Do all the classes function the same as they did in RoK? IE Monk has an extra powerful 3rd attack if the first two attacks land.

My second question is about races. Which races are best for which classes? I assume that this is also very similar to how it was in RoK, but I want to be sure.

Any help/suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Any race is capable of working out for most instances. All depends if you want more so of one aspect or the other, so you want all around, you want max str, you want max magic resis. Btw every stat matters in ember, ie rok it didnt mattered if you had chr, ember chr us a modifier depending.

I see. So max str and wis are musts? Is there a class you'd personally suggest?

Actually, the MAIN thing I need help with is stat allocation. Is it best to be balanced? I am going saurian monk for my first character. Should I do 22 22 19 11 14 14 or something like 23 22 19 11 11 14? Also which divinity would be best for leveling/pvp? In RoK everyone went nally for level fast but would get ripped by targos player. Is that the same here?

There is no EXP bonus for night divinity, if that helps answer your question.

22 23 19 10 14 10 would be a nice saurian monk. don't worry about chr and int wis is far more important. you could also +1 the str to 23 instead of agi. Both would be a good monk

Yea this is what I'd go with too. Also instead of rerolling your monk there is an option to reallocate stats for a small exp loss then you won't have to start all the way over.

Also I'd suggest finding a clan since that will be the best way to get caught up on everything new here in this game.

DAMN! I ended up deleting the first one. Damn it. I was looking for like a clan recruitment thread but didn't find anything. Any suggestions on that?

Also, how do I purchase these premium points? Are the items you buy with them level tagged? Like, do you have to be a curtain level to use good BOA items?
