Help rolling first characters

Hey ladies and gents,
I haven't played this game for a very long time.

My old alts on the old game were a Deathmage and a Brigand

I'm curious at what race/class combos I should take when I reroll them as well as what stats are most important besides intel for the DM and dex for the Brig...
pvp

any advice would be great

Thanks

I know jack shit about DMs since I don't play mages, but for a brig, your class stats are agility (steal chance vs target intelligence) and intelligence (search resistance, autosneak, eventually traps). In addition, you want endurance for HP, wisdom for magic resistance, and strength for damage, prioritize those to your liking.

Not played Thief class, but what Satsujin says sounds good.

For necro either elf or gnome I would say.
Gnome would be better against other casters. Elf would be better against melee types.
As for stats. The usual INT/WIS/END/AGL. Spare points on CHR.
FYI: Gnomes have more stat points to spend.

Also remember you can +1 a stat at the cost of more stat points.

Also also. Might be worth having a look at these links:

Stat Info: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=614

Also also also:
You get more experience in a party now (exp for ks is divided among the party members, but there is an increase in the amount you get).
Joining a clan might be a good idea, for reasons I am sure you can guess. But do not join blindly.
Browse the forums and talk to people in game to get an idea about the clans (personally I would avoid clans until I did this, but that is me).

Hope you enjoy your stay :)

I think I've found a race for my Brig, but the question that's irking me is; is 17 intel far too low?

Thanks, I went with a Gnome and I'm very happy about his stat spread. Just slightly worried I'll get wrecked by melee because of the 17 endurance points.
