Its actually very very easy to get it working on mac i just use parallels or even bootcamp will do.

Hopefully will see an html client in the future so it doesnt matter what platform you are on to play.

I can always do that in the end if people want HTML and would prefer that. But I am 'always' ensuring there is a windows based client because I like stand-alone clients above all. :P

Technically an web client release would make it much easier to do a mobile release, since all you would need then is a wrapper for the web client. And that would also allow you to look into things like Kongregate if you wanted to. But that would have to fit into the image that you have for where you want this game to go.

I am doing final tests on all my changes now to try to minimize bugs. There is a good deal of internal changes that could mess up anyways so trying to ensure everything is good.

I am hoping to have a client/server complete by the weekend, maybe less. Aiming to try to release larger updates now rather then smaller. We'll also work on level 8+ next.

I agree that using parallels or bootcamp is a simple process, but I believe you still have to purchase a copy of windows to do that. I'm all for either an html client or a mac client!

@abstracf you do have to have a copy of Windows but Windows 7 and 8 can be found legally pretty cheap if I remember correctly and can be freely upgraded to 10 I believe.

Anyways I just suggest this because Chris is currently the only coder and while he is magical at idk how long it's going to take for another client that might only service 5-10% of the playerbase.

He's currently working on the whole backend plus a whole Windows front end client. Unless he decides to suddenly stop working on the backend (which is basically the game) to start working on a second front end I don't see it happening very fast. I'm familiar with objective-c and Xcode which is what would be used to make OSX and iOS clients but it's still a long process.

So yea just saying your prob getting in the game much sooner figuring out a way to run the Windows client. I believe there is also wine which emulates Windows and allows you to run Windows apps on a Mac without installing Windows but idk how that works really.

We are going to work on adding some more content now. As we do I will also work on spells to add. We should be pretty set soon for a full wipe and real start after a good beat test. Tomorrow I will see about adding some of the areas builders have added 8)

Thanks.

Not sure if you want me posting this here, or help, or bugs but FYI...

I installed Wine to see if I can get it working on my Macbook. I'm able to run the updater without any issues, but I'm not able to get into the game because of the following:

1) Regular login to my account = Couldn't establish a connection with the server, please try again later;
2) Facebook login = client crashes, and I have to force close wine; and
3) New Account = Couldn't establish a connection with the server, please try again later.

I don't really know how Wine works, maybe Lat can help you. You'd need framework 3.5 though if anything. I otherwise have no clue about wine.

I was messing with this on linux yesterday and ran into the same issue. Pretty sure the .net 3.5 framework is the issue, it needs to be installed on a 32 bit wine prefix which is what was giving me issues. I ended up just virtualizing windows.
