If you don't want to be PKed, lvl in the safety of arenas.

Problem solved.

Exactly..and drop the pk level back to 9. People need to harden up.

Worked when everyone was 12 and there was enough people to deal with this, plus having a guardian character alt really helped things go by.

If you guys can't come up with anything better, then it's staying at the moment. Regardless, we lost alot of new players because of it. You can say 'fuck em' and whatnot, but they are important to the survival of the game.

What about some more NPCs out of town that advise players to level in the safety of town guards and offer safe passage rides to the next town? Maybe that can be provided for the low and medium level areas.

And perhaps lower the exp needed for the lower levels.

Yea I feel like the solution we have keeps new players somewhat safe while only limiting pking a bit. I wouldn't mind maybe lowering it to say 12-13 instead of 16 but that's just me.

I mean the first 15 levels is pretty much nothing though. If you base it off their time in game it's probably 2-3% of their whole leveling time. That's a newbies time either, I'm pretty sure a vet can get to level 15 in a couple hours. It's only about 2.5-3.5mil EXP, they still have an average of 295-315mil where they can die.

To me the EXP is already pretty low though overall.

Just my 2 gold here.

I seldom play this game, mainly because I don't really have the time.

I made a crit the other day and leveled it up to 5 or 6 before I said fuck it and did something else with my time. I don't s ee myself putting in hours of repetitive grinding to not even get close to having a high level character... The dilemma here is that 25ers shouldn't be a cakewalk to have either.

But if I had to guess, the whole process of spending hours and hours doing the same exact thing over and over again is what makes non-RoKers leave. Like you said, one of are 12.

The solution? Maybe have other ways to level up besides hitting the same monsters ove and over again. Perhaps some little quests that give exp and gear. Idk if you guys are already doing that or not, I didn't make it that far.

There's a ton of quests to do man. Of course they are mostly mob killing but they serve as good mini distractions. If you lack any interest in the game it will seem dull no matter what though, can't really fix that.

Skimming through the various suggestions here i think what can be done relatively quickly that would help:

- New Account "No PK" flag, for up to 24 hours. This will help new players to survive a bit until they learn their stuff
- More NPC interactions warning of the dangers of PKs.
- lvl 15 immunity to exp loss and item loss, specifically from PK kills.

Anything more.. and we start getting into the "soft kitty" part.

Yea even though this is already in I think something that would help would be not allowing items to drop off characters up to level 16 or whatever the protection level is. I think it's somewhat of a problem seeing no one has money at those lower levels to an stuff (I get the starter equip is bound but anything good you find after usually isn't)

We should raise the SB'd gear to level 15 stuff at least on stores.

Level 1-15 store bought = SB.
Level 1-8 monster drops = SB.

Not level 15 monster drops. They need to learn sometime. By level 16+ you should be making enough gold.

Random idea; not sure how practical it is in implementation.
How about making all shop bought gear come unsb'd.
However all items 15th level or lower (maybe just white items) on a 15th level or lower alt will not drop. Does that make sense?
Basically Alts <= level 15 will not lose <= 15th level gear (could include potions and foods etc, maybe not gold?).
Or is this too care bear?
Eh... wait... Jadefalcon already said something similar...
