But I'd go with 24hrs and a warning message at intervals, when the account is created they get a message saying (You have created a new account, you will be shielded from player killing for 24hrs, if you attack someone during this 24hr period you will lose your shield)

Then a reminder at 12hrs that they have 12hrs before they lose their shield

Then a final 1hr reminded that shield will drop

I know someone will say, well people will just create a new account and transfer their alts to it to be protected

Easy fix, make it so a new account still shielded from nopk cant not transfer or recieve transfers from other accounts.

Problem solved. 24hrs is plenty of time for them to learn how the world works and with the warning messages at the intervals, they cant say they weren't warned.

I love this.

All the people that have played for 24 hundred hours will still cry about being pked. its part of the game, but its really not if you don't pk. people don't understand that other people like to pk. its what I used to enjoy before I left. it was one of the only reasons I joined the game to begin with. what fun is it to just pve in a game with 30 people online, with no feeling of risk that you might be attacked or anything. I guess ill never understand.

Im with these ideas I have already mentioned:

The level difference one (10 as Thi suggested seems good or the you can only get pk'd from 16th onwards from Folder. Esp, since as NH pointed out the best healing spell for level 15 is Jurgen).
With the level difference idea. There could be a way to make it work without being exploited... sorta.
Make it so that you cannot use any abilities on someone out of the level range.

/nopk is also a good idea (from Metzger) but I would suggest making it so that they gain less exp (since there is less danger for them - think arenas).

A cooling of period is also a good idea (not sure if this one was mentioned specifically, if not it is an adaptation of KILLA's maximum amount of times a person can be pk'd idea... or was it the pk'er can only kill x amount of time a day? meh whatever). Basically a person can only be pkd once an hour (or some such) then their immune (god protects blah blah message maybe).

It's already been changed to lvl16 before you can be PKd and I think it was a pretty good compromise. Any more cessations and Killa is 100% right the game feels dull.

I agree, most of us won't pk people over and over without some reason and I wouldnt want to see restrictions other then nopk level 16 and under. For arguments sake lets say a level 17 is sitting on your space waiting for you to kill Mendel so he can steal your drop. You can't attack him cause he's out of your range, what do you do to get rid of the ninja looter?

Drop stealing is a good point. That could be exploited now by 15th level alts. Although it is more problematic with random spawn times and stuff.

Not sure that drop stealing would be much of an issue, but maybe who knows. The game needs PK action is more my point. We can't all hold hands and be carebears all day.

I do not have a problem with pking, but some people apparently do, and I think the 3 options I listed are the better ones. Drop stealing however complicates things. I do not mind drop stealing either, but it sure would be annoying if I couldn't do anything about it because of their level.

It worked in rok just fine.

If you don't want to be PKed, lvl in the safety of arenas.

Problem solved.
Troll. I am here to create the issues that plague the game, I will push your buttons and like the outcome.

Exactly..and drop the pk level back to 9. People need to harden up.
