you are correct, but in a very similar way the balance issue wold resolve what youre saying anyway. there's ultimately no reason a brigand with 25 strength should swing a short sword for the same damage as a cavalier swings it with 14 strength. unless a specific combat technique or ability is in play. in which atm they have none of these abilities.

im not demanding all classes attack for the same 200 hit over and over, but currently it is very one sided, a cav gains more benefit than a bard and a bard more than a brigand and they are using the same gd weapon. when you see a new weapon and you go "dang" lets decide 12 damage on my zerk or 8 on my cav or 5 on my bard...because the strength isnt a universal composition. its the exponential formulas and broad class weapons that cause it. class specific items are better overall and a way easier way to balance class damage, opposed to tossing out a 29 ad sword that 9 classes use.

perhaps this oad specifically isnt designed for slayers/brigs, but maybe the next oad will be heavily biased for autosneak or something. dunno noone from staff has really stated why slayers cant hide in this oad haha. no reason they should be able to hide in plain sight anyway.

in my opinion none of the oad related stuff matters because any change these classes get does not bring any of the classes on par with a mage/necro/cleric or monk for oads. it might help but overall its like asking for trash to be recycled into garbage. monsters hit 700+ you cant afford to not dodge or have a pet. guards cant afford to protect. its only viable if they notice a cleric stammed out and took a hit where they toggle it on and off if needed. noone wants to scour text ferociously to see who's hit.

ive just accepted it, brigs cant oad, clerics cant pk, lizards cant survive magic, slayers pk best but have to be able to hide. its just what it is.

My points here are in relation to OaDs, not balance on the whole. I mostly play this game to to OaDs and currently 2 classes (brig/slayer) are borderline useless for them. Knight is far from useless but currently there are times when taunting feels overly dangerous (when mobs hit for 6-800 you can still get double tapped).

My proposals are to try and equal out the value of taking all classes to OaDs. If you guys wanna talk overall game balance that's great but please let's make a separate thread for that or else everything gets muddy.

What he said... I made my Slayer my main but shit no one wants to let me use it for OADs so I'm stuck Priesting/Guarding... Sigh.

Make Slayers suck less for OADs;

Use my critical hit idea for assassins when their making a normal attacks ;)
Chance to critical hit based on lvl &/or INT (or AGL). When they get lucky they do more damage.

For slayers, i would make a skill called "flurry" that would enable you to do x2.5 damage, but consuming 2 action points (actual values TBD)

Basically this would enable single square damage, thus making slayers worthy of being taken on Oad runs.

Also, add an "assassination" skill that enables to do x8 damage, at the cost of all action points. Because SLAYERS SHOULD SLAY.
