/track is pretty cool, but it taking an action kinda sucks imo. Have we discussed this before? I couldn't find a thread on it, curious what others thing.
It's very helpful, but not quite like it was back in the day when it would drag you around as well. I think it's ok that it does not do that, but having it take an action hurts its usefulness for quickly finding people. You can exhaust yourself checking every few squares in some cases, and that defeats the entire purpose I think.
Thoughts?

Re: /track taking an action
I'd agree with you, but I kinda think it sucks right now to track, move, track, move, etc.
Would been smarter for it to actually move automatically after whoever you are tracking and have an exhaust timer like sneaking does to not make it overpowered.

Re: /track taking an action
i think it should be a free action, and you track target automatically for a set number of squares per intelligence based on your level.
maybe something like "(Int*level/2/10) +5" would put 10 int at roughly 18 squares and a 22 int gnome at 33

Re: /track taking an action
I like that idea. INT is still probably a dump stat until STR or something is toned down though :/.

Re: /track taking an action
I don't want it to track automatically. It was a problem in ROK, it's not going to happen. It was far to easily abused on new players and I don't think overall it was very nice.
But I can understand it not taking a turn.
