Would something like a 1 time level 25 quest (so people have to invest a good amount of time into it) and then maybe an option tied to a premium account + 100-200k gold cost work?

Just tossing some ideas out there.

Lol good reply, I was just referring to a high cost to unsoulbind so it would only apply to harder items

High Amount of Gold for a Scroll.
PP Points
Similar to Reallocate Stats for XP, Reallocate Items for XP -
Unsoulbind Once Per Character
One day a month or a week every three months, special vendor area appears with Un Soulbind Item.


Personally a limited time vendor every so often is my favorite. It stops someone from moving gear between alts immediately so more will be farmed, but also provides some kind of flexibility where that amazingly rare +2 spectral scythe can be moved between your cav and your zerker a few times a year.

Rare vendor spawn is cool, but it'd have to last a day or so for people to have a fair chance.

I think making it a gold sink is a good idea too. The game will need more gold sinks as time goes on, there's basically none right now.

Definitely. Maybe have it spawn for a whole day but make the scrolls disintegrate after three days or so? That way you can pick some up for guildies who couldn't get online or something along those lines.

Yeah, that could work. The more I think about it the more I think this is good idea as long as it's limited in use.

What about this for a thought... say you have a void blade that is character bound and you want to move it to an alt / sell it. Take it to a forge and make it a lengthy/difficult quest to reconstruct the unsoulbound item. Aka you need X mob kills, X mats, X boss kills etc and add a large Gold/PP cost to it as well. You could also add a very large cooldown on accounts before they can do it again, aka 30 day cooldown. I definitely like the idea of being able to disenchant for mats to perform a reconstruction as well. Will keep lower oads in massive demand as well :).

Thoughts?

That might be a pretty good idea it gets people playing and interacting (which is the goal). Plus if it's 25 only and not too often sounds pretty balanced to me. You'd only use for really rare and it would have to be worked for.

For disenchanting I don't want to get crazy with how it works if we go that route though. I'd probably only use a 3-4 of disenchant items from common to more rare, and base the actual disenchantment item you get off the item level and rarity, probably randomized so that you'll have a higher chance getting rare items on better items you disenchant. I'd ignore what the item actually is for simplicity sake. I would not include PP/etc over it and I would probably have a 14-30 day cooldown timer. Scroll would not be tradable amongst characters, to prevent people making characters to farm them. I think a 14-30 day expire timer on them ensures that they can't be farmed either (aka they'd always have one typically.)

PP would be a separate option, same scroll, just buyable.

I think vendor is still to easy to be honest.

Overall the biggest thing is how long it would take until you can 'do' it again. 2 weeks, one month, etc.
