Obituaries

Postby Kawasaki » Wed Nov 30, 2016 7:42 pm

I would love if we had a page on the website that showed the obituary log from the taverns. A way to somewhat immortalize an awesome kill or mosh events, or even an embarrassing kill like a 25er getting killed by a training dummy.

Anyone have any input on this idea? Just a way to see what's going on when you can't login the game and let others seeing the death and destruction in our chaotic world.

I think if this were to be a thing we'd first have to ensure staffers weren't able to show up via the obits. Because if they die whilst testing then there might be issues with giving away super secret stuffs. Otherwise it's not a bad idea. :)

I love this idea. To make it better, the obits should be longer. Maybe last 25 deaths?

That should be the case for Tavern Obits too, right?

If it isn't a strain on the website itself it would be cool to have them stay for a week in a database before being dumped. Maybe longer for one's involving a quest or major clan war!

I'd probably prefer being on a different server if that was the case.

I was eventually aiming to have interaction between the server and website though. I.E. auction hall in web, online stats, players, etc.

It's a great idea nightmist does a great job of this (it's too bad they let their game die).

If anyone is interested to see how it can be rolled out checkout the nightmist website. They do everything from item auctions to name changes for gold all on the website. Even have a list of monster kills it's pretty cool

I disliked the monster kills on NM because it would give away where you were leveling.
