different types of chat

Postby killa » Wed Dec 07, 2016 4:14 pm

like an MMO, having a chat channel for buying and selling that's global. Maybe a /shout command that you can be seen by everyone in the area youre in. I'm sure others have more ideas as well. That would be cool

Adding some type of chat filter to add/remove these from general chat would be nice also.

Having shout would be nice pretty nice but only in limited amounts and maybe just for the zone?

trade channel might be cool but id rather see an auction/buysell option on the website or in game like how nightmist does it.

On a diff note ive had quite a few new players ask if there was a friend list option might not even need a channel but would be cool to be notified when they were on and crap.

Ya shout just for the zone, like in the grove for example every square you can hear it, southern wastelands, etc.. And i like the nightmist way of doing it too, but for things like just getting a few quest items your short or something like that, real quick on the fly, the channel would be nice. "looking for 3 oak barks" or something like that ya know. Did you play NM? I was Masterlocke on NM back in the day. Lots of PKing then too hehe

Global chat - hmm maybe, it's a little bit immersion breaking (as much as you can be immersed in a game like this) but yea.

That auction thing Nightmist has holy fuck do want.

Global chat is a hardcore Do Not Want for me unless it can be toggled off. I've seen what that turns into on MMOs, and I've also seen how a lot of our community talks to each other, those two things together are just asking for trouble.

An area specific shout command would be good, though.

Global Talk... oh dear lord no (unless you can turn it off). The bots in games selling shit (Neverwinter Nights Online I'm looking at you) really pissed me off, it was spammed in area, global and even pages *shudders*.
