I know you've all settled on a logo, but I wanted to throw another in the mix.

I thought it would be nice if the "E" in Ember could be represented as flames which would work nicely as a stand alone mark and pair it with a typeface the embodied the movement and energy of fire.

I got to say that is very nice. My only issue is that how do you get it so it won't look cut off if it's used as an actual logo (I.E. the flame bits).

I like the ember you designed, it looks very neat/clean.

That's pretty nice too.

It would be good if people who wanna give it a shot could, then we can have a quick vote on it. It just needs to be able to be usable (I.E: transparent background) above all.

Though the black/red could be a good skin interface.
