Are two handed weapons too weak?

If we changed the Knights shield bash to be a pommel strike with a two handed weapon, this could be a mean of either dammage and or stun attack with only a two handed weapons. Let's face it, Noone is going to swing a two handed huge piece of steel for 3 hours or more lol. And in battle they would of prob used the blunt end of the sword to bash or stun the enemy to save the persons own stamina and or strength.

And what I propose then is to put the shield bash on a paladin, why, because a paladin will always have a shield where as a knight wont. And it will give a good means of making two handed weapons worthwhile.

The downfall would be adjusting the dammage of paladin to match the knight.

The Great two handed sword was extremely long but they had two places for hand hold due to their size , it was not like the Katana by any means.
