Fist Weapons.

Postby daedroth » Tue Jan 31, 2017 5:31 am

There are no fist weapons for sale, you can only find them in drops/quest rewards. Admittedly since the classes that can use fist weapons can also use blunt their not really needed...
Just throwing it out there, maybe requests is not the proper place for it since I am not really bothered enough to request it. It would be more of a flavour thing to have them added to shops.

A class may be getting a bonus for using fist weapons.

It was suggested and he's still tossing around the idea.

That's nice. Now...let's discuss why Monks...who normally use their fists as weapons....can't use Fist Weapons.....this confuses me so much.

Cause the game is new and things like this still need to be worked out :). Monks should definitely be able to use fist weapons.

I suggested the same thing awhile back, when the weapon and armor types were adjusted.

Monk's using fists just makes sense to me, as does monks using a 2h staff. When I visualize a monk/ninja I see them using 1 long 2h staff.

My suggestion for it was, by using the 2h staff, they lose their 5th attack, which I believe removes the possibility of doing 2 roundhouses in one round out of the picture.

Perhaps when using a 2h staff they lose roundhouse all together an gain a different type of attack that goes with the 2h staff theme like leg sweep or something (==>You unleash a vicious Wind Fury against your enemy with your two-handed staff for 250pts of damage.) (picture the ninja spinning this 2h staff round and round in front of them like a fan blade.)

I agree, fist weapons and two handed staffs make sense for monks. It has been verified by all the movies I have seen!

 indeed.

Most movies with monks/ninjas in them show them being proficient in most weapon types (staves, swords, nunchukas, throwing stars/blades, bow and arrow, polearms, etc...)

depends on which, considering shinobi were assassins to carry out missions samurai couldn't do honorably. and the better schools later went to anti-assassin states to protect political enterprises. ninja and monk are so far apart its insane.
